  • US Immigration and Customs Enforcement carried out a four-day operation in Northern California this week, arresting 232 individuals. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf made headlines after issuing a warning to residents last weekend about the impending raids, sparking applause from liberals and criticism from the Department of Justice, which is now reportedly looking into whether she obstructed justice.   • You may soon see fully driverless cars on the rode as soon as April — yes, that means with no driver at the wheel, or even in the car, at all. It all becomes officially legal next month after the California Department of Motor Vehicles published the new rules on Monday and announced that it will soon issue permits. [Source: Sacramento Bee]
  • In what may be the most SF thing ever, we now have mindfulness on wheels. The company PauseNow has launched its wellness bus in the city, decked out with small meditation pods and noise-canceling headphones to allow you to Zen out for 15 minutes away from the office. [Source: CNBC]
  • A new study from U.S. News & World Report says California is the state with the worst “quality of life” in the nation, looking at areas like health care, education, economy and fiscal stability. It didn’t take into account sunny weather, beautiful nature or culture, to be clear.[Source: SFGate]
  • You might want to think twice before trying to beat the BART system, with officers getting serious about those who try to ride without proof of fare. The transit agency announced it was stepping up enforcement against people who aren’t paying for a ticket, doling out $75 tickets.
  • San Francisco supervisor Norman Yee wants to change the name of Phelan Avenue, which runs through City College of San Francisco’s Ocean Avenue campus. The name is the that of former San Francisco mayor James D. Phelan, who Yee says held anti-Asian views during the early 20th century. [Source: Curbed SF]
